From Glasgow to the world stage, K4CIE has been making waves in the trap and rap scene with her unique sound and infectious beats. In this exclusive interview, we get to know the person behind the music as she takes us on a journey through her musical inspirations, studio experiences, and future plans. With a passion for helping to develop artists and an insatiable desire to create, K4CIE is a force to be reckoned with.

‘Stop overthinking and put your music out there. It's not doing anything sitting in your hard drive.’

What is your Producer name & how did you come up with it?

K4CIE - I was 19 and thought changing the A to a 4 was something different and here we are.

Where did you grow up and where are you based now?

Glasgow born and bred - still here!

What inspired you to start producing music?

I've always been quite musical; from a young age I would mess around on fruity loops, or with instruments listening to music for hours alone in my bedroom.  It honestly felt like a natural progression to get a music programme on my computer and 'try' make a beat. Music has been a deep rooted love of mine since I can remember, the thought of being part of something that a little girl like me in her bedroom at the other-side of the world could listen to is what inspired me.

What was the first track you ever produced?

Some tragic wanna be Hudmo - Lunice type beat haha. It will never see the light of day.

What genre do you prefer to make most & which track of yours best represents your sound?

I prefer to make trap/rap beats not just for rappers but also singers. I would say from my tracks that are out at the moment it would be 'Baby Sky Hook' - it has that US melody and drums but with the UK vocals to give it a different spin. (But wait till you hear whats coming next).

Name a track you wish you produced.

Theres many but one of the tracks has to be SICKO MODE - the beat is crazy, the switch up was nuts and It still goes off at festivals to date.

What is your most interesting studio story?

One year Raye orangised a studio day in London with only women. We all collaborated and worked with each other all day in Church Studios, which already blew my mind to be in a studio space that so many massive records were made. Hearing all the stories from all these talented woman in one space creating and bouncing of each other is one of the best studio experiences I've had to date.

Please tell us the name of your favourite producer and your fave artist.

Favourite producer - Metro Boomin - Favourite artist - Travis Scott

What is your worst musical habit?

Starting another beat before the one I'm working on is finished.

What artist do you most want to work with?

UK - Shaybo - US - Megan Thee Stallion

Who is the most famous person in your phone book? And can you tell us how you met?

No comment haha

What other roles in the creative industry do you have - artist, videographer etc.?

I'm a DJ, radio host, studio owner (644 studios) and promoter (Peach). I also really like to help develop artists, I feel like that could be a big passion in a couple of years time.

What do you prefer - the process of creating music in the studio or hearing your music played once released?

The process for me is the most exciting. From making the beat to having the artist in the studio recording or even receiving the vocal stems. It's such a stimulating experience. Nothing gives you that buzz more than hearing your track finished and feeling that energy with the artist, sometimes i cant sleep from the excitement.

What are your plans for 2023…can you share any exclusive news with us?

This year is about releasing more music, throwing more parties and collaborating with people from all over the world. Let's see where the music takes us.

What’s the best piece of musical advice you’ve ever been given?

Stop overthinking and put your music out there. It's not doing anything sitting in your hard drive.
